Estimator Role

Estimator – ICI Construction

�� Salary: Up to $110,000 per year, based on experience

Are you a detail-oriented Estimator with a passion for precision and a deep understanding of Ontario’s construction landscape? We’re currently seeking a skilled Estimator to join a reputable general contractor serving the Durham Region, with a focus on ICI (Institutional, Commercial, and Industrial) projects.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids, developing quantity takeoffs, and collaborating with project teams to ensure cost-effective and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and competitive tenders for ICI construction projects
• Review architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to understand project scope
• Develop quantity takeoffs and pricing for all trades, materials, and subcontractor scopes
• Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring comprehensive bid coverage
• Analyze project risks, timelines, and contract documents to ensure complete bid submissions
• Coordinate and attend site visits and pre-bid meetings as required
• Assist the project management team with cost planning, budgeting, and value engineering
• Maintain accurate records of bids, cost databases, and historical pricing

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in the local Ontario ICI construction market
• Solid understanding of construction methods, trade scopes, and industry practices
• Proficient in estimating software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, Bluebeam, and others)
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and time management
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Diploma or degree in Construction Estimating, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
