ICI Construction Estimator

I'm currently partnering with a well-established General Contractor to find an experienced Estimator to join their growing team in Hamilton.
 
About the Client:
 
My client is a reputable General Contractor with a strong presence across the GTA West and Niagara region, delivering projects from Mississauga through to Niagara. They specialize in residential, commercial, and institutional construction, with a portfolio that includes school renovations and additions, quick service restaurant (QSR) new builds and retrofits, and office interior renovations.
They've built a solid reputation for quality work, repeat business, and a collaborative team environment—and are continuing to grow.
 
The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for a variety of ICI and residential projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to define the scope
• Complete quantity take-offs and pricing for labour, materials, and equipment
• Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Identify risks, gaps, and value engineering opportunities
• Collaborate with project managers during pre-construction and handover
• Attend site visits, walkthroughs, and pre-bid meetings as required
• Support the preparation of competitive tender submissions

Qualifications:

• 3-7+ years of experience in construction estimating
• Experience across ICI and/or residential projects
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Proficiency in estimating tools and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids in a fast-paced environment

Looking For:

• Experience with school renovations, QSR projects, or interior fit-outs
• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar
