About the Role Sector: Civil Engineering / Infrastructure
Our client is seeking an experienced General Foreman to play a key role in the successful delivery of a major civil engineering project in the Didcot area. This is a hands-on leadership position, responsible for supervising site operations, coordinating labour and subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
Key Responsibilities - Day-to-day supervision of site activities, operatives and subcontractors
- Ensuring works are carried out in line with programme, drawings and specifications
- Enforcing high standards of health & safety, quality and environmental compliance
- Coordinating plant, materials and labour to maintain productivity
- Supporting site management and engineering teams with planning and sequencing of works
- Delivering toolbox talks, briefings and daily activity plans
- Monitoring progress and reporting issues or risks to site management
- Maintaining good communication across all site teams
Requirements - Proven experience as a General Foreman or Senior Supervisor within civil engineering
- Strong background in infrastructure works (earthworks, drainage, structures, highways or similar)
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, health & safety legislation and best practice
- Ability to lead teams, motivate operatives and manage subcontractors
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- SMSTS / SSSTS, CSCS (Gold or Black) preferred
