Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team in Burnaby. Your Opportunity As an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering technical geotechnical solutions for a variety of civil engineering projects. You will work closely with senior engineers and project teams, providing technical guidance, managing projects, and mentoring junior staff. This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment and enjoys tackling challenging geotechnical problems.
Key Responsibilities - Deliver practical and innovative geotechnical engineering solutions for civil infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, water/wastewater, tunneling, slope stability, and dam design.
- Manage geotechnical projects of varying size and complexity, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to project timelines.
- Serve as a primary contact for internal and external clients, developing strong professional relationships.
- Support proposals, technical decision-making, and project execution while collaborating with senior engineers.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and technical staff to support their professional development.
- Promote safe work practices both in the office and in the field.
- Contribute to professional development initiatives, including technical publications, conferences, and local engineering networks.
Qualifications & Skills - Degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering and professional engineering registration in British Columbia (EGBC).
- Minimum of 7 years of geotechnical engineering experience, ideally within British Columbia or Western Canada.
- Strong technical expertise in heavy civil geotechnical applications, including numerical analysis and trenchless methods.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills, ability to meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively in team environments.
- Experience mentoring or coaching junior engineers.
- Valid BC Driver's License.
