Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer – Sudbury, ON

A well-established Canadian engineering consultancy with a strong presence in Northern Ontario is seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join its growing team in Sudbury. This is a permanent, in-person role offering exposure to a wide range of geotechnical and civil engineering projects across the region.

You will work as part of a collaborative, technically strong team, contributing to projects from initial site investigation through to design, reporting, and construction support. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute geotechnical investigations and field programs
• Prepare geotechnical analyses, design recommendations, and technical reports
• Provide construction-phase support and engineering consultation
• Perform soil mechanics analyses including foundations, retaining structures, settlement, and slope stability
• Coordinate drilling programs, instrumentation, and monitoring activities
• Support junior staff and contribute to proposal and report preparation
• Assist with client coordination and project delivery within budget and schedule

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
• Registered P.Eng. in Ontario
• 5+ years of experience in a geotechnical consulting environment
• Experience with drilling programs, slope stability, and settlement analysis considered an asset
• Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills
• Comfortable working in both field and office environments
• Valid Ontario driver’s licence and authorization to work in Canada
