Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer – Sudbury, ON
A well-established Canadian engineering consultancy with a strong presence in Northern Ontario is seeking an
Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join its growing team in Sudbury. This is a permanent, in-person role offering exposure to a wide range of geotechnical and civil engineering projects across the region.
You will work as part of a collaborative, technically strong team, contributing to projects from initial site investigation through to design, reporting, and construction support. Key Responsibilities - Plan and execute geotechnical investigations and field programs
- Prepare geotechnical analyses, design recommendations, and technical reports
- Provide construction-phase support and engineering consultation
- Perform soil mechanics analyses including foundations, retaining structures, settlement, and slope stability
- Coordinate drilling programs, instrumentation, and monitoring activities
- Support junior staff and contribute to proposal and report preparation
- Assist with client coordination and project delivery within budget and schedule
Requirements - Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
- Registered P.Eng. in Ontario
- 5+ years of experience in a geotechnical consulting environment
- Experience with drilling programs, slope stability, and settlement analysis considered an asset
- Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in both field and office environments
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and authorization to work in Canada
