Lead Structural Engineer – Telecommunications Sector Location: Surrey, BC | Salary: Up to $150K (Experience Dependent) + Profit Sharing
 
We’re currently partnering with a well-established and highly respected engineering consultancy that has been delivering expert services to the telecommunications industry across North America for over 45 years. With a strong reputation for technical excellence in telecommunications site design, structural engineering, and project management, this firm continues to grow and is now seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to join their Surrey, BC office.
 
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Intermediate or Senior Engineer ready to take a leadership role within a collaborative and technically-driven team. The successful candidate will be joining a forward-thinking firm that offers strong mentorship, a dynamic project portfolio, and excellent long-term growth potential.
 
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• B.Sc. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of experience in structural design (steel, concrete, and wood)
• Registered as a P.Eng. with EGBC
• Strong knowledge of the BC Building Code
• Experience in telecommunications engineering and tower design (asset)
• Familiarity with civil design and evaluating existing structures
• Proficient with design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SAP2000, etc.)
• Excellent communication, coordination, and report writing skills

In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For:

• Leading structural engineering design for telecom site development projects
• Conducting structural analysis, reviewing drawings, and preparing calculations in line with codes and project specifications
• Performing site visits for evaluations and inspections
• Collaborating with project managers, drafters, and external stakeholders
• Responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and supporting field teams as needed
