The Role: They are currently looking to hire an experienced Materials Handling Designer to support mechanical and infrastructure design efforts on a range of industrial projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical drafting and 3D modelling skills, with a background in the layout and design of bulk material handling systems for sectors such as marine terminals, mining, and logistics facilities.
Key Responsibilities: - Create detailed mechanical layouts and design drawings, ranging from minor equipment upgrades to full terminal layouts.
- Develop conceptual models and produce construction-ready drawing packages.
- Assist in developing material take-offs to support estimating and planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, and electrical.
Required Experience: - 5+ years of experience in mechanical system design, preferably in bulk material handling.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar technical qualification.
- Expertise in 3D design tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Revit.
- Understanding of lidar and integration of geospatial data into 3D models.
Desirable Skills: - Familiarity with Civil 3D and point cloud tools (e.g., ReCap).
- Solid communication and collaboration skills.
- High attention to detail and drafting standards.
