Municipal Engineer

We are currently seeking a Municipal Engineer to join an engineering company dedicated to delivering premier services and products within the transportation industry. Specializing in design engineering, overhead sign structures, bridges, noise walls, and traffic management plans.
Collaborating with their existing engineering team and interfacing with other divisions within the company, you will play a pivotal role in their projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a team to develop plans, designs, calculations, and analyses adhering to established codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and other project deliverables.
  • Manage projects, including scope, schedule, and budget oversight.
  • Administer contracts, serving as a liaison between contractors and clients, and supervise site inspection activities.
  • Mentor junior staff in the preparation of drawings and other deliverables.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements, gather information, and facilitate approvals, serving as the primary point of contact.
  • Conduct field visits and construction site inspections for data collection and condition assessment.
  • Assist in proposal preparation as needed.
  • Perform additional duties typical of a professional engineering environment.
Qualifications:
  • - Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • - Registered Professional Engineer designation in Ontario.
  • - Ability to work in a hybrid capacity, primarily based in eastern Ontario.
  • - Minimum of 5 years' experience in municipal and civil engineering design projects in eastern Ontario, covering a range of infrastructure such as sewers, watermains, roads, land development, grading, earthworks, stormwater management, and drainage.
  • - Familiarity with MCEA processes.
  • - Demonstrated experience in leading design teams, engaging with clients, and securing approvals.
  • - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • - Background in construction and contract administration.
  • - Keen interest in assuming a lead technical role on design projects.
  • - Capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • - Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork.
  • - Previous experience in consulting engineering preferred.
