Payroll/HR Officer – RC Frame/Groundworks – North London - £40k

They have earned an exceptional reputation over the past 40+ years which has seen the company grow to a turnover of £35M and work on schemes up to £8m in North London and the Northern Home Counties.
About the Role: My client are seeking a Payroll/HR Officer to join their Head Office team based in North London. You must be an enthusiastic and reliable individual with good attention to detail. This position is suitable for a self-motivated individual who can work in a methodical manner.
Key Responsibilities Payroll - Ensure that pay is processed on time, accurately and in compliance with government regulations
- Produce timesheets from the time and attendance system
- Check hours, absences and holiday pay
- Administer third party deductions and other deductions from earnings
- Process weekly and monthly PAYE payrolls
- Produce weekly and monthly payroll reports
- Ensure RTI and EPS are submitted on time
- Pensions
- Maintain accurate payroll records, processing updates to reflect new starters, leavers and changes to pay rates
- Liaise with HMRC and update tax codes and student loan deductions etc.
- Process statutory payments correctly
- Deal with payroll queries
- Manage CIS pay run and process CIS monthly return
- Payroll year end
- Weekly labour agency timesheets
- Input agency invoices onto accounting system
Human Resources - Recruitment, including site labour via agencies
- Liaise with recruitment agencies and employment advisers
- Assist in the interview process, arranging interviews and issuing relevant correspondence
- Develop and maintain company policies and procedures
- Issue contracts of employment, Staff Handbook etc., and keep employment documents under review
- Maintain personal files in a confidential manner
- Process annual leave requests
- Deal with all aspects of employee relations, including managing absence, disciplinary matters, grievances and sickness
- Provide advice on company benefits
- Work with senior staff to manage workforce
- Administer pay increases
- Employee correspondence
- Maintain the Company’s training database
About the Requirements; - SAGE Payroll experience
- CIS experience
- HR knowledge and experience
- Proficient in use of Word, Excel and data entry
- Previous experience working for a construction firm
- Conscientious and hardworking, with a methodical in approach to tasks
- Excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills
- Able to work on own initiative and with site-based team
- Good attention to detail
