Project Manager - Commercial & Institutional Construction

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing General Contractor based in Oakville that specializes in commercial and institutional construction projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced ICI environment and has a proven track record of successfully delivering projects from pre-construction through closeout.
About the Role
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, budgeting, and execution of commercial and institutional construction projects. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and experience managing multiple stakeholders while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of commercial and institutional construction projects
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and cost controls
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, tendering, and contract administration
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
• Coordinate with consultants, owners, subcontractors, and site teams
• Monitor project progress and proactively mitigate risks
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, building codes, and safety standards
• Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders
• Oversee project closeout, deficiencies, and final documentation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing commercial and institutional (ICI) construction projects
• Proven experience delivering projects on time and within budget
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and CCDC contracts
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and Microsoft Office
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
