fire protection systems and industrial utilities, who are currently seeking a
Project Manager to support their continued growth. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based in Edmonton with travel to job sites across Western Canada (approx. 25%).
This position is ideal for an experienced operations or project leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, excels at building high-performing teams, and has a strong background in industrial fire protection and/or utilities. The successful candidate will take ownership of multiple ongoing projects, providing direction and oversight from initiation through to completion. This is a key leadership role with a strong emphasis on client engagement, team development, and project profitability.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide leadership and accountability to a team of field and office personnel.
- Define project scope in collaboration with internal stakeholders and clients.
- Manage project execution, including coordination of internal teams and third-party vendors.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Lead regular project meetings to ensure alignment and progress.
- Maintain client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for regional accounts.
- Conduct site visits across Western Canada to monitor project execution and resolve issues.
- Support business development by identifying opportunities with both new and existing clients.
- Ensure quality assurance and adherence to industry regulations and standards.
- Mentor and coach direct reports through performance reviews and ongoing development.
- Drive continuous improvement in operations, systems, and team culture.
- Represent the company professionally in all interactions, maintaining discretion and confidentiality as required.
Qualifications: - 5–10 years of experience in industrial utilities or fire protection systems.
- Strong background in project management, operations, or service management roles.
- Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter (Red Seal) certification preferred.
- NICET or CFAA certification considered an asset.
- Deep knowledge of NFPA standards, Alberta Fire Code, ABSA regulations, and industrial practices.
- Experience leading teams across both field and office settings.
- Skilled in budgeting, scheduling, and estimating.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative leadership style.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly within Western Canada.
- PMP or MMP designation is an asset but not required—training can be provided.
