Projects Operations Manager (Mechanical Services / HVAC)

SSA Group is proud to be partnering with a growing mechanical services contractor to recruit an experienced Projects Operations Manager to lead and drive the performance of their Projects Division in Melbourne.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially focused professional looking to take full ownership of project operations, profitability, team performance and strategic growth.
The Role

• Lead and manage the Projects Department across operations, delivery and financial performance
• Drive operational structure, workflows and process improvement initiatives
• Oversee the full project lifecycle from estimation through to delivery
• Manage departmental P&L, budgets and profitability targets
• Lead recruitment, performance management and development of project teams
• Ensure efficient labor allocation and project resourcing
• Improve project planning, drafting coordination and startup processes
• Implement systems and tools to improve visibility, productivity and cost control
• Identify and target key builders and market sectors aligned with business strengths

About You

• Strong background within mechanical services, HVAC or commercial construction
• Proven experience managing large-scale project operations and delivery teams
• Strong commercial and financial management capability
• Experience managing budgets exceeding $10M+
• Demonstrated leadership experience building or restructuring teams
• Strategic mindset with the ability to drive long-term growth and operational improvement
• Strong understanding of contracts, project delivery and stakeholder management
