SSA Group are working with leading Electrical Contractor based in Kerry who are hiring for a Purchasing Officer role.


About the company:

My client is a market-leading Electrical Contractor that are looking for a Purchasing Officer to join their team.

Duties of the role:

- Create, review and process purchase orders.
- Review and process delivery dockets and follow up with supplier on errors and shorts.
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
- Negotiate prices and contracts with suppliers, to achieve lowest price for high-quality materials and equipment.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors.
- Select prospective vendors and negotiate contracts.
- Evaluate vendors based on quality, timeliness, technical support and price.
- Schedule deliveries and ensure timely fulfilment of orders.
- Research and evaluate vendors to compare pricing and services.
- Coordinate with fellow managers to monitor inventory and determine supply needs.
- Ensure quality of procured items and address problems when they arise.
- Keep up with trends in procurement.
- Stay current with purchasing technology trends and oversee purchase and implementation, as necessary
- Maintain and update companywide asset register for most effective deployment of company tools and equipment.


Requirements:

- 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience in electrical, mechanical or construction sectors an advantage.
- Proficient using Microsoft office packages and other data entry software.
- Highly organised with efficient time management and a proactive approach.
