About the Company:

A well-established and growing construction company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join its finance team. The company delivers a diverse portfolio of projects across various sectors, maintaining a reputation for excellence, innovation, and financial stability.

Role Overview:

The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, supporting key business decisions through insightful financial analysis, and maintaining compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional with a strong background in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee financial reporting, including the preparation of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, providing key insights to senior management.
  • Manage project accounting, ensuring cost tracking, variance analysis, and revenue recognition are aligned with contract requirements.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to monitor financial performance and profitability of projects.
  • Assist in cash flow management and forecasting to support business growth.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, liaising with external auditors and advisors as necessary.
  • Contribute to process improvements within the finance function, enhancing efficiency and internal controls.
  • Mentor and support junior finance team members as needed.
Key Requirements:
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of project accounting, WIP reporting, and revenue recognition principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
