SSA Group are seeking a Senior Buyer on behalf of a leading Civil Engineering Contractor in Dublin. You will be responsible for the purchasing/buying processes, negotiation of prices and delivery of products.
€65,000 - €75,000 per annum + package.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project requirements and company objectives.
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring favourable terms and conditions.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance, addressing any issues related to quality, delivery, and compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to forecast material needs and ensure timely procurement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.
- Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, ensuring continuity of supply.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior buyers and procurement staff.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the civil engineering or construction industry.
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supply chain management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
