Senior Civil Engineer, Structural

We are a well-established engineering and environmental consulting firm known for delivering exceptional project management and consulting services for municipal, First Nations, and private projects. We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our expanding team as a Senior Civil Engineer specializing in structural engineering.

Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in structural engineering related to buildings and bridges. They will efficiently manage intermediate engineers and project team members, support various company sectors, cultivate strong client relationships, and pursue business development opportunities.

  • A degree in Civil Engineering with at least 10 years of Canadian work experience.
  • Experience in design and structural analysis for buildings and/or bridges.
  • Proficiency with structural engineering materials such as concrete, steel, and timber.
  • Experience working with municipalities, First Nations, and/or private sector clients.
  • Eligibility for or active membership with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian and Ontario design codes and guidelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong time-management skills and self-initiative to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with client and government approval processes is an asset.
  • Design structural components for civil infrastructure, buildings, facilities, and bridges.
  • Prepare conceptual and detailed designs, calculations, layouts, and specifications.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
  • Contribute to proposals, feasibility studies, designs, and other assignments.
  • Lead the development and implementation of engineering procedures and standards.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineering staff and students.
