Senior Electrical Engineer (Buildings) to provide technical leadership and deliver high-quality electrical designs for complex building projects.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- P.Eng. designation in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant electrical design experience in a consulting environment.
- Strong experience with commercial, institutional, and industrial building projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Understanding of the Ontario Building Code and Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
- Knowledge of fire alarm, IT/communications, and security systems is an asset.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities: - Design electrical systems for buildings, including power distribution, standby power, and lighting systems.
- Prepare and review drawings such as single-line diagrams, panel layouts, riser diagrams, voltage drop and fault current calculations.
- Perform engineering calculations using industry-standard software and design codes.
- Prepare and oversee detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD and Revit in accordance with company standards.
- Develop electrical specifications and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary project teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits, design reviews, and construction progress assessments.
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, invoicing, and risk management.
- Assist with proposal preparation, including scope definition, fee estimates, and schedules.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff and support business development efforts.
