Senior Electrical Engineer

Senior Electrical Engineer (Buildings) to provide technical leadership and deliver high-quality electrical designs for complex building projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • P.Eng. designation in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant electrical design experience in a consulting environment.
  • Strong experience with commercial, institutional, and industrial building projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Understanding of the Ontario Building Code and Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm, IT/communications, and security systems is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities:
  • Design electrical systems for buildings, including power distribution, standby power, and lighting systems.
  • Prepare and review drawings such as single-line diagrams, panel layouts, riser diagrams, voltage drop and fault current calculations.
  • Perform engineering calculations using industry-standard software and design codes.
  • Prepare and oversee detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD and Revit in accordance with company standards.
  • Develop electrical specifications and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary project teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct site visits, design reviews, and construction progress assessments.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, invoicing, and risk management.
  • Assist with proposal preparation, including scope definition, fee estimates, and schedules.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff and support business development efforts.
