⚡ Senior Electrical Engineer - Power & Utilities
Vancouver, BC or Calgary, AB | Hybrid Work Model
 Up to $130K plus benefits

We're partnering with a well-established engineering consultancy that's looking to add a Senior Electrical Engineer to their Power & Utilities group. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys leading teams, managing client relationships, and driving technical excellence across complex infrastructure and utility projects.

The Opportunity:

In this role, you'll combine technical design expertise with project management and team leadership. You'll be responsible for delivering a range of electrical engineering projects — from distribution systems and EV charging infrastructure to institutional and commercial developments — while helping shape the long-term growth of the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of electrical design packages, drawings, and specifications for power distribution, lighting, and utility projects.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers and technologists, encouraging professional development.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor and primary contact for clients and stakeholders.
  • Oversee project execution — managing scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Review, approve, and stamp deliverables as Professional of Record (POR).
  • Support proposal writing, cost estimation, and technical input for RFP submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and client expectations.
  • Participate in business development efforts and contribute to client growth strategies.
About You:
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with 8+ years of experience in electrical design and project delivery.
  • Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop technical teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused mindset.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously within budget and schedule.
  • Familiarity with utility or power distribution systems; experience with Western Canadian utilities (e.g., BC Hydro) is a plus.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of deliverables and driving project outcomes.
Why This Role Stands Out:
  • Join a forward-thinking consultancy with a strong reputation in the utilities and infrastructure sector.
  • Opportunity to lead a capable, collaborative team on diverse and challenging projects.
  • Competitive compensation, hybrid flexibility, and a culture that values professional growth and innovation.
  • A chance to have a real impact on shaping the future of the team and its technical direction.
