Senior Quantity Surveyor - Liverpool
SSA are currently working with a well renowned M&E contractor with offices in the Manchester and Liverpool region. They're actively seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with M&E experience to join their team working on various Commercial and Residential projects.

The Role

  • Assist as requested by the Commercial Manager in review of tender documents and provide necessary clarification on proposed attendances/contract/terms etc. as required to limit unreasonable commercial risk.
  • Provide leadership for the Commercial Administrator, Assistant Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors within the delivery teams in line with company standards and values working to maximise the potential of the team and the individuals within them.
  • Ensure all roles and responsibilities are carried out in accordance with business procedures.
  • Attend internal project handover meetings in develop with the Project Manager the commercial strategy for the project.
  • Maintain and develop meaningful relationships with our stakeholders.
  • Compile and submit valuations with the Project Manager and Operations Director in line with the subcontract and ensure that they are maximised, and that timely payment is received. Ensure that the subcontractor’s valuations are incorporated into the companies valuation to the client and those variations between them and the subcontractor and the client are substantiated and provided, in line with  subcontractors with the client.
  • Establish whether programme commitments are being met and advise The Operations Director on actions to be taken .
  • Ensure that final account and variations are agreed progressively and that the final account is agreed within one month of PC.
  • Complete a current monthly cash flow forecast and submit to the Commercial Manager on allocated projects.
  • Ensure that the subcontractors are suitable for the specific project. Prepare subcontract documentation, attend and chair Pre-let meeting’s, assist in the administration of the subcontract documentation, assist in preparing subcontract applications for payment, monitoring the application process ensuring compliance with the Construction Act and company procedures
  • Attend internal project close out meeting and close out any commercial actions.

The ideal candidate:
  • You will be educated to B.Sc. Degree or hold satisfactory, relevant experience.
  • A high proficiency in Microsoft Office with the ability to adapt to various inhouse software and apps. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be enthusiastic and hard-working.
  • A high regard for all elements of health, safety and wellbeing.
  • Travel to various projects in the north west as and when required. 
  • Experience of working within the M&E industry on medium to large scale projects.
The successful candidate will receive a salary DOE circa £65k - £85k plus a great package.
