Senior Structural Engineer for their Salt Lake City office. This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced structural professional looking to take on a technical leadership role while working on complex, large-scale industrial projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering structural solutions for heavy industrial clients, including projects in the mining and metals sectors, while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the overall growth of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and oversight on structural engineering projects from concept through construction.
- Lead structural analysis and design for industrial, mining, and metals-related facilities and infrastructure.
- Prepare, review, and approve engineering calculations, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Participate in client meetings and coordinate with contractors during construction phases.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate existing structures and develop repair or remediation strategies as required.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and best engineering practices.
- Mentor and support junior and intermediate engineers, providing technical guidance and professional development.
- Contribute technical expertise to business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the United States; licensure in Utah or Arizona is preferred.
- Approximately 10-15 years of experience in structural engineering.
- Strong experience in heavy industrial projects; mining and metals experience is a significant asset.
- In-depth knowledge of structural design principles, codes, and standards.
- Proven ability to work independently and lead the technical delivery of projects.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and client-facing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
