The role: 

The role is fully site based, assisting the site management with all necessary setting out works as per the designs provided. The ability of Engineers to keep ahead and in control of the works is paramount to a successful project.

The Responsibilities:
Although the core role of the engineer would involve the setting out and construction of the designed elements of the project, they often undertake Design & Construct contracts, which enables them to review and amend the design during the works to more buildable or efficient solutions. Provision of surveys for clients and consultants are also common, and minor site-based design changes are sometimes developed as part of the works, depending on the engineer’s abilities and experience, they may be included in this process.

As part of the role, they may also be expected to assist with the management of the site including engagement with health, safety, environmental and quality inspections, and supervise works as required, dependant on their abilities. Training and mentoring of these elements will be provided.

The Requirements:
  • - Some sort of Construction related qualification e.g., Degree or HNC.
  • - A willingness to work on site and work your way up through the      ranks.
  • - A UK driving licence.
  • - To have a Keen interest in Civil Engineering and Construction.
