Marine Structural Engineer

Salary Range: $90,000 - $140,000 CAD

Opportunity Overview We are supporting a well-established British Columbia-based engineering and advisory consultancy that delivers a wide range of marine, industrial, and public infrastructure projects across Canada and internationally. They are currently seeking an intermediate-level Marine Structural Engineer to join their Burnaby team.
This is a strong opportunity for a Professional Engineer with solid structural design experience and exposure to maritime and/or transportation infrastructure. The role combines technical design delivery with project coordination and client interaction, offering involvement across both design and construction phases.
Key Responsibilities Technical Delivery - Lead and support detailed design of marine and/or transportation structures
- Produce engineering deliverables including reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Complete quantity take-offs and support capital cost estimating
- Provide field engineering support during construction phases
- Assist with structural inspections and prepare associated reports
Project & Client Support - Collaborate with senior staff on project scope definition and proposal development
- Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and cost estimating
- Liaise with clients, contractors, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies
- Contribute to coordinated, high-quality project delivery
- Support a collaborative and high-performance team environment
Requirements - 5-10 years of experience in marine, coastal, or transportation structural engineering
- Eligible for registration (or currently registered) as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC)
- Strong technical capability in structural design and analysis
Assets / Preferred Experience - Postgraduate degree in civil or structural engineering
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Experience working on projects in the Pacific Northwest
- Client-facing experience and multidisciplinary project exposure
- Comfortable working in active industrial, marine, or construction environments
