Our client, a well-established and reputable construction firm based in Vancouver, is currently seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join their finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with proven industry experience who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

About the Role: The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the company’s tax compliance and planning activities, ensuring all reporting requirements are met while identifying tax-saving opportunities. This position requires a solid understanding of tax legislation as it applies specifically to the construction and real estate development sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review corporate tax returns, GST/HST filings, and other statutory filings for the company and related entities.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal and provincial tax laws and regulations.
  • Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Provide tax planning strategies and guidance to optimize the company's tax position.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax legislation affecting the construction industry.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (finance, legal, project management) on tax implications of business decisions.
  • Assist with CRA audits, queries, and correspondence as required.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for tax compliance and reporting functions.
Key Requirements:
  • CPA designation or equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant tax accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the construction or real estate sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian tax legislation, GST/HST, and corporate tax regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively in a project-based environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting and tax software; experience with construction ERP systems is an asset.
