We're working with a well-established, international engineering consultancy that supports clients across the mining and natural resources sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add a Junior to Intermediate Water Resources Engineer to their Vancouver-based team.
 
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, working on complex water management challenges across the full mining lifecycle—from early-stage planning through to operations, closure, and reclamation.
 
The Role
 
You'll join a specialist surface water team delivering innovative and sustainable water management solutions on projects across BC, Canada, and internationally. The role offers a strong mix of technical design, modelling, and field exposure.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Analysis and design of hydraulic structures (e.g., channels, ponds)
  • Development of mine water management plans from concept through to detailed design
  • Hydrological and climate-related studies to support site-wide water strategies
  • Water balance and load balance modelling
  • Field work and site support (local and international travel opportunities)
  • Technical reporting and client-facing deliverables
  • Project coordination and support to senior engineers
 
What We're Looking For
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in water resources, environmental, or civil engineering
  • Degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources, Mining, or related discipline
  • Eligible for EIT or P.Eng. registration in BC (EGBC)
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in Excel
  • Experience with modelling/design tools such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, PCSWMM, ArcGIS, Civil 3D, or similar is an asset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a consulting environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license
