With the upturn in the United States Economy, Seattle has seen its construction sector boom over the last 2 years. Since 2014 there has been $1.6bn worth of projects completed, while at present there is currently $4bn worth of projects currently under construction with a further $1bn in projects permitted.

The bulk of the construction projects in Seattle are residential based, with 63 projects in total under construction. The region has also seen substantial investment in large office projects by multi-billion dollar organizations such as Amazon, Facebook, Expedia and Weyerhaeuser opening a total of 17 new offices in Downtown Seattle. There has also been significant investment in Retail, Hospitality and Healthcare in the region.

Notable Projects Under Construction Include:

• Insignia Towers by Bosa Developments which is the largest residential project in the area at $450m and scheduled to conclude in 2016.
• Potala Tower by Dargey Enterprises, Mixed Use Residential & Hotel ($190m), due to open in 2016.
• The Gallery, The Park and Troy Block, 3 Office complexes for Amazon, Combined value of $795m, construction to be completed in 2016 & 2017 respectively.
