Sunset Boulevard hotel design unveiled in new renderings

Date: 25 May 2017

93 rooms and a restaurant on the ground floor.

Back in February, plans emerged for yet another Hollywood hotel, joining the increasingly ridiculous number already on the way to the area.

Now, Urbanize LA has spotted a presentation reviewed by the Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council that sheds a little more light on the project.

For one thing, it has a name: the Chaplin Hotel. Renderings of the project show it would have a boxy concrete design, with glass walls fronted by a photovoltaic brise soleil (you know, a sun blocking thing).

Designed by Roschen Van Cleve Architects, it would also include frosted glass images of the bowler hat-wearing fellow who appears to be the hotel’s namesake.

The 11-story structure is planned for 7225 West Sunset Boulevard, at the corner of Poinsettia Place. It would replace the low-slung commercial structures that currently exist at the project site.

The hotel is set to include 93 guest rooms, along with a ground-floor restaurant and a four level subterranean parking structure. Other features include several meeting rooms, an outdoor terrace on the second floor, and a rooftop pool.
