Local Seattle General Contractor with more than 30 years experience throughout Washington State are looking to add a skilled Senior Project Engineer to their growing team. Ideally seeking someone with 3-5 years of experience in the local market preferably with ground-up construction projects.
Projects vary across Federal, Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12 and local municipal markets from $500k – $80m. The role comes with competitive base salary $85k-$110k+ dependant on experience and project exposure. Up to 5 weeks PTO, Health, Vision, Dental benefits and more in joining this team!
Role & Responsibilities:
- Work with Project Manager and Superintendent assisting with coordination of subcontractors, vendors, owners reps, inspectors and all other relevant project personnel.
- Document/Coordinate process of change orders, RFI’s, submittals, shop drawings and on-site materials.
- Maintain/Update construction schedule adhering to Project Manager and Superintendent directions.
- Oversight on subcontractor work, update weekly reports, meeting minutes and quality control for ongoing site work.
- Check project work ensuring it meets drawing specifications.
- Build relationships with all project teams showing good communication skills to create a positive working environment as a main point of contact.
- Assist PM/Superintendent in coordination of work and support all outside teams as requested.
- Participate in meetings as requested showing leadership in learning to become a Project Manager.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 3-5 years in a similar construction role in a Project Engineer role, preference for candidates with previous experience on ground up local projects.
- BSc in Construction Management or similar construction related degree or equivalent amount of hands-on experience.
- Strong communication, analytical, documenting and listening skills ensuring compliance and timely completion.
- Oversee on-site staff providing assistance where required including working with subcontractors and vendors including schedule updates, RFI’s, submittals, ensuring quality of work and contract compliance.
- Experience with budget input, report updates, change orders, progress reports and value engineering as required.
- Strong skills working with leading teams, construction practices, procedures, safety protocols and building codes.
- Highly organised with proven ability to meet project deadlines.
- Team player who can slide into a working environment and thrive alongside others.
- Good software proficiencies.
