I am working with a national general contractor that has been in operation for over 40 years with mass projects. They operate in the heavy civil market throughout multiple regions and pride themselves on being a firm that nurtures lasting relationships and as a result of this, the majority of their work is from retained business. They have an excellent reputation throughout in the industry and are a leading player.

They are looking for a Senior Estimator with a wide range of heavy civil experience on projects within the US. They offer competitive compensation packages including competitive salaries. This position for the right candidate offers career growth possibilities developing into a Chief Estimator in time.  
The Role- Senior Estimator
Core Responsibilities:

  • Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials and labour expenses
  • Travel to job sites to gather information on materials required, Labour costs and other factors
  • Use computer software to calculate estimates
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients and contractors on estimates
  • Read blueprints and technical documents in order to prepare estimates
  • Recommend ways to make projects more cost effective and or profitability
  • Develop project plans for the duration of projects

  
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
  • 8+ years estimating experience on medium to large complex projects in the US market ranging from $20M to $300M in value
  • Experience in estimating civil infrastructures such as bridges, roads, and highways, earthworks
  • Experience using estimating system and capacity to adapt to new estimating software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
