About the Client: SSA is recruiting on behalf of a Roofing, Cladding and Facades Envelope Contractor that operates across the South of the UK. The company has developed a reputation for delivering a high-quality service to clients, carrying out projects in multiple sectors.

About the Role: To assist in overseeing the Design Department reporting to the Design Director. Overseeing internal and external Design teams.

About the Responsibilities:

  • Working on total design solutions for each project allocated.
  • Managing a team of both internal and external Designers.
  • Managing the workflow and assigning work to Designers.
  • Supporting, understanding, and advising the client as to their requirements and obligations.
  • Liaising with the Design Director regarding design and specification for individual projects.
  • Assisting with procurement and programming
  • Outlining project specifications against cost plans
  • Arranging and attending required design meetings
  • Sign off of all drawing details
  • Issuing of all official documentation to clients
  • Ensuring the design process recognizes current legislation, standards, and codes of practice where appropriate.
  • Ensuring the design information provided is of high quality and keeping the pace with timescales.

About the Requirements:

  • Degree, HND or equivalent, design, or construction preferred.
  • Experience with a prior building envelope sub-contractor is essential. Preferably Roofing, Cladding, and Facades systems.
  • Will have prior experience in a Design Management role or Project Management with prior design experience.
  • A thorough understanding of all relevant codes, regulations, and guidance documents.
  • A high standard of verbal and oral communication skills
  • Must be capable of taking ownership of its own workload and represent the company’s interests appropriately.
