PROCUREMENT MANAGER – ESSEX – FACADES 

 

About the client:
My client are an established Facades sub-contractor based in Essex that are seeking an experienced Buyer to join them.

 

About the role & duties: 
-Requesting quotations from suppliers; placing orders; chasing up deliveries and logging purchase orders
-Developing relationships with Site teams, suppliers, and installers
-Signing off supplier invoices each month
-Creating and updating project procurement plans
-Updating project cost plans
-Managing supplier accounts
-Keeping call-off / delivery schedules up to date
-Liaising with site teams to monitor movement in programme & delivery dates

 

About the requirements:
– Experience within a buying position in the construction industry is essential
– A knowledge of materials, construction techniques and dialogues
– Experience within the Building Envelope/Facade sector (Preferable but not essential)
– Computer Literacy Skills – Excel, Word, Outlook
– PIM / Eque2 (desirable not essential)
– Ability to take responsibility for the task they are given and see them through to completion
– Organised and able to manage their workload
– Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks at once
– Willing to learn and keen to develop their role and career
– Ability to work under pressure
– Ability to form good working relationships with our suppliers and installers
– Conscientious & hard working
