Quality and H&S Manager                   Luton                                    £60k

My Client are aiming to become clients 1st choice design and build Geostructural solution provider for projects in London, Home Counties and the south coast. They will do this by providing safe, innovate, value engineered solutions for new build foundations that are installed faster than any other suitable method, on time.

As a Quality and H&S manager/adviser you will support companies Directors, Managers and site personnel on all matters that impact quality and health & safety, reporting directly to companies Managing Director.

Duties will be as per job description below:

  • Will act in a supporting and advisory capacity to the business on all H&S and quality issues.
  • Roll out the health and safety strategy across all sites whilst providing proactive focused health, safety and quality guidance and coaching to managers to drive forwards a health, safety and quality focused culture.
  • Ensures advice is given to management on health, safety, quality and compliance issues and related legislation.
  • Ensures the working conditions are compliant with H&S regulations and acts accordingly when there is a need to address issues – raising with local management and escalating if required.
  • Responsible for ensuring proactive monitoring regimes are always executed by local management and records maintained.
  • Ensures accidents and incidents are investigated with follow up reporting documentation supplied, lessons learnt applied and communicated to all levels in the business.
  • Ensure that H&S training programmes are created and delivered across the business.
  • Responsible for carrying out regular H&S audits and implementing appropriate action plans to resolve findings and drive best practice.
  • Visiting sites on a regular basis, identifying and assessing risks at all levels and report findings.
  • Responsible for ensuring plans are put in place to mitigate repeat occurrences. Develop a regular H&S communication strategy/plan.

Personal Qualities required:

  • NEBOSH Diploma in H&S or equivalent
  • Chartered Status desired.
  • Experience of working in a groundworks subcontract environment.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • Team player
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills – Microsoft Office essential. (Excel & Word)
  • Willing to take ownership of a work task, produce the information required to high standard, within the time scales set
  • Confident open communicator
  • Able to build creditable relationships with others
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic

Remuneration

  • 5 days per week Mon-Fri.
  • Salary £60,000pa paid monthly in arrears via bacs transfer on last Friday of the month.
  • Use of company commercial vehicle including fuel card.
  • 28 days holiday which includes bank holidays, which increases by a further day per year up maximum of additional 5 days after 5 years’ service.
