About my client: An established contractor for refurbishment works across many sectors – Education, Heritage, Residential, Public Buildings and Commercial. Focusing on contracts from £500,000 to £5m providing a professional service in the gap between the large national and the small local contractor.
Reporting to: Managing Surveyor
Duties and Responsibilities
- To work as part of a team carrying out surveying and financial management of site based projects and sub contractor procurement.
- To take responsibility for the financial management of site based projects, maximising profitability and minimising costs.
- To initiate and pursue value engineering opportunities where appropriate.
- To ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.
- To formulate and substantiate EOT/L&E claims when required.
- To promptly settle subcontractor final accounts.
- Submit fully detailed final accounts to the client as soon as practicable.
- To follow up retentions and aged debtors.
- To work in accordance with the companies management procedures.
- To effectively liaise with the client and client representatives, contracts managers within the team and site management staff.
- To establish new and maintain existing relationships with clients.
- To attend client/site meetings as a representative of the Company.
- To take an active role in the Company’s Health and Safety policy and promote Health and Safety in the workplace.
- To administrate the contract and ensure notices are issued in a timely manner and in accordance with the contract.
- To ensure strict adherence to deadlines for getting orders out on time and getting valuations/CVRs/payments in on time.
- To supervise Assistant Surveyors assigned to you (if applicable). Playing an active role in their development in conjunction with the Managing Surveyor.
