About the client: Our client was founded just over 20 years ago and have grown to be a leading and respected contractor. They are capable of undertaking works packages across Civils, RC Frame, Groundworks and Rail projects. They recently increased their capabilities to include RC Frame projects across London and have some leading senior staff with significant expertise.

About the Role: Reporting to the Preconstruction Director, you will manage the planning and programme function in selected key bids in Tender, Preconstruction and concluding in Construction, liasing internally, and externally with the client, consultants and other key stakeholders – ultimately to produce and manage well considered, professional and accurate plans and programmes.

Responsibilities include;

  1. Proactively lead the planning function on selected projects producing well considered, professional and achievable methodologies and programmes for both Pre-Construction and Construction activities.
  2. Create, maintain, review and administer construction schedules and plans.
  3. Provide technical assistance with planning and zoning activities.
  4. Communicate effectively with key members of the team throughout the bid, tender, pre-construction and construction phases, seeking advice where appropriate.
  5. Understand and implement the requirements of the building contract(s) in relation to submitting initial and updated programmes.
  6. Where necessary, provide periodic programme updates with appropriate supporting information to assist the delivery team in reporting.
  7. Liaise with Third Parties critical to the planning process (including but not limited to Statutory Authorities, Utility Providers, Planning Authorities other Design Consultants) and ensure their requirements and contributions are understood and communicated in the programme.
  8. Effectively Communicate and contribute with the team at all times during the tender, preconstruction and construction periods.
  9. Provide timely and accurate reports explaining the progress of work and critical issues in the design period, with a clear plan of actions.
  10. Comply with Company procedures.

Key Skills required:

  • Good communication skills
  • Good Construction knowledge of techniques and productivities.
  • Minimum of 10 years construction experience.
  • Good understanding of temporary works requirements.
  • Computer literate in Planning and Programming Software Proficient in the use of P6 and Asta
  • Recognised construction qualifications
  • An ability to work in a team, or alone
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good understanding of the Planning requirements of the JCT and NEC forms of Contract.
