JOB SUMMARY

My client is looking for a Senior Rail Operations Modeller to join their team.
They work closely with their clients to provide high quality rail operations modelling and strategic advice and insights utilising scientific analysis and extensive industry knowledge. My client works on some of the most exciting infrastructure projects across Australia.

My client is based in Melbourne; however, this role has the flexibility to be based in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Rail Operations Modeller your work will involve:

  • Conducting rail operations modelling such as timetable analysis, strategic assessments, dynamic simulations, infrastructure updating and travel time evaluations.
  • Using RailSys and Excel to undertake rail operational modelling.
  • Leading projects and supporting other team members to learn and develop.
  • Engaging with stakeholders and project teams to source information, clarify issues and communicate findings.
  • Developing reports and presentations to communicate outcomes to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Contributing to proposals and other business development activities to support the Rail Strategy and Operations team.

You will work closely with their clients on a wide range of projects across Australia. You are likely to work with other transport modellers, engineers and project managers on large multidisciplinary project and engage with different disciplines involved in project delivery.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The right candidate will need to have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in rail operations modelling and using RailSys
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
  • Outstanding presentation and written communication skills, including report writing and customer engagement
  • Somebody who is keen to further develop a career in the rail industry and specialise in rail operations
  • Someone who is looking to work on different types of projects, from independent detailed rail modelling to strategic high-level analysis in a team.

  
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIIONS

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, mathematics or transport planning
