The Role:

As a Site Supervisor you be responsible for delivering one large project or section of a project. You will supervise and oversee a crew of construction workers and also manage resourcing, planning and procurement for that assigned project/scope of works. You will be required to supervise your site works in an effective, efficient and productive manner keeping vigilant control on all field activities ensuring construction is delivered safely in accordance with the drawings, specifications and quality outlined in the contract documents and consistent with client requirements.

The key areas of responsibility for this role will include –

  • Determine and manage resource requirements for the project, including labour requirements, assigning workers to complete specific tasks within the project, arranging plant and material.
  • Supervise and oversea site staff (trades) in the completion of daily construction activities on site.
  • Managing and keeping records of employee work hours, including timesheet processing to payroll and finance team.
  • Liaise with the project management team on any commercial related issues such as delays, variations or if project milestones cannot be achieved.
  • Take practical actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at the construction site.
  • Proactive client management on site.
  • Keeping track of daily site activities and project progress.
  • Interpret IFC drawings and construct projects accordingly.
  • Inspection and review of projects to monitor compliance with building safety codes, and other onsite requirements and specifications.
  • Ensure safety documentation is completed correctly and undertaken on a daily basis.
  • Ensure works on the project is undertaken in accordance with JSEA, Safe Work Method Statements, Risk Assessments and site specific quality, safety and environmental plans.
  • Conduct regular site inspections/walks.
  • Assist with the development of SWMS and plan high risk work activities with the project management and HSEQ team.

About You:

This position would suit a candidate who possesses the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Previous experience in Civil Construction
  • Full driver’s license
  • Construction industry induction card (white card)
  • Willingness to travel
  • Current VESI Passport is desirable 
  • Current Rail Industry Worker Card (RIW) is desirable
