Hiring a Mechanical Estimator for a well-known Tier 1 Mechanical Contracting company in the GTA.

Job description:
  • Assist in the bid process while building strong relationships with sub-trades and manufacturing representatives
  • Assemble accurate, timely, and well-organized estimates, including hard-bid, construction management, and design-build in a methodical and systematic manner
  • Organize sub-contractor quotes when the bid is successful, re-writing binders, and assist the buy-out process
  • Distribute sub-trade quotes to personnel, flagging areas of concern, and coordinating with management to accommodate risk within the bid price
  • Maintain databases, including labor rates, material pricing, and project costs, for future reference
  • Review drawings and tender documents to understand the scope of work and submission requirements
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with all stakeholders, specifically sub-trade contractors and manufacturing representatives
  • Recognizes risks related to project-specific requirements, site, schedule, and market conditions /constraints
  • Completes full quantity take-off of all labor, equipment, and materials for medium to large projects

 Requirements: 

  • Minimum 5 years of mechanical estimating experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of AutoBID Mechanical
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
