Hiring a Mechanical Estimator for a well-known Tier 1 Mechanical Contracting company in the GTA.
Job description:
- Assist in the bid process while building strong relationships with sub-trades and manufacturing representatives
- Assemble accurate, timely, and well-organized estimates, including hard-bid, construction management, and design-build in a methodical and systematic manner
- Organize sub-contractor quotes when the bid is successful, re-writing binders, and assist the buy-out process
- Distribute sub-trade quotes to personnel, flagging areas of concern, and coordinating with management to accommodate risk within the bid price
- Maintain databases, including labor rates, material pricing, and project costs, for future reference
- Review drawings and tender documents to understand the scope of work and submission requirements
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with all stakeholders, specifically sub-trade contractors and manufacturing representatives
- Recognizes risks related to project-specific requirements, site, schedule, and market conditions /constraints
- Completes full quantity take-off of all labor, equipment, and materials for medium to large projects
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical estimating experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of AutoBID Mechanical
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
