My client is a lower mainland based and experienced civil/utility company. They are actively seeking career-minded individuals that wish to continually grow and develop within their organization. Their management consists of extremely knowledgeable and experienced civil/utility professionals. Candidate to have solid grasp of civil infrastructure and utilities installations. Daily responsibilities will include creating estimates, acting as contractors representative, meeting with owners and owners reps, reviewing material takeoffs, dealing with regulatory authorities etc., overseeing the daily operations of projects. The candidate should be familiar with various municipal specifications and the MMCD.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to keep track of the project progress including costs, schedule, change order and quality control.
  • Create and maintain the delivery of all project documents and files (RFIs, RFQs, EWOs & Monthly Progress Payment etc.)
  • Assist the PM in the review of Sub-Contractor & Supplier quotations.
  • Issue Contracts, Letters of Intent, Purchase Orders, etc.
  • Prepare Bid Packages.
  • Request BC One call utility locates.
  • Create site binders
  • Develop monthly progress payment report for the Project Manager.
  • Assists the Project Manager, Site Superintendent and Health & Safety Manager with establishing project hazard & risk assessment documents.
  • Assist with job close out documents, conducting deficiency walkthrough and preparing deficiency restoration plans.
  • Coordinate and support all production and daily reports.
  • Assist with onsite meetings and deliveries for crew.
  • Support projects close out process and ensure project closeout in a timely manner.
  • Manage successful relationships with sub-contractors.

 
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 to 5 years experience in utility construction.
  • Ability to read construction drawings is an asset.
  • Have knowledge of OH&S regulations and knowledge of construction disciplines (knowledge of materials and methods required).
  • Attention to detail
  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • An understanding of underground utility and road construction market.
