Construction Project Manager (Retail)

National Travel Required (Canada)
Our client is hiring an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead multiple retail construction projects across Canada. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to run sites, keep trades moving, and solve problems fast.
This position is not entry-level. We are looking for a proven Project Manager who is ready to step in and perform from day 1.
This position requires national travel across Canada and may involve travel for short or extended periods depending on project schedules. Night work may be required depending on the project and tenant needs.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Manage multiple retail construction sites across Canada
  • Build and maintain schedules, and keep all trades aligned to timelines
  • Schedule and coordinate all trades to meet project milestones
  • Lead and support the company's Site Supervisors on each site
  • Hold teams accountable for safety, quality, and performance
  • Coordinate trades, suppliers, inspections, and project deliverables
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and solve complex construction issues across multiple provinces
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, trades, and internal leadership
  • Track progress, provide reporting, and ensure deadlines are met
  • Support close out, deficiencies, and final turnover
What We Are Looking For
  • Strong experience as a Construction Project Manager
  • Strong knowledge of every subtrade’s scope of work
  • Proven ability to manage multiple active projects at once
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead Site Supervisors
  • Confident scheduling trades and pushing timelines when needed
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability
  • Comfortable working in multiple provinces with different site conditions and challenges
  • Must be able to work nights when required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Comfortable traveling nationally across Canada
Retail construction experience is a major asset, including:
  • Experience working in active retail environments with strict timelines
  • Understanding tenant coordination and operating business requirements
  • Experience working with mall management, landlords, and property managers
  • Experience delivering retail fit-outs, renovations, and rebrands
  • Strong understanding of close-out expectations, deficiency management, and turnover
  • Ability to manage fast-paced schedules with limited downtime and high visibility
  • Experience coordinating trades in tight spaces, live environments, and after-hours work

Pay: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
Experience:
  • Construction Retail PM : 3 years (preferred)
