About the Role: 

Our client is a growing consulting engineering firm specializing in structural, geotechnical, and civil services across residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional markets. They are currently seeking a highly capable Intermediate/Senior Structural Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead structural design work across diverse projects—ranging from reinforced concrete and steel structures to wood frame systems—while supporting key client relationships and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute structural engineering design and analysis for a variety of projects including residential, commercial, and light industrial structures using reinforced concrete, steel, wood, and masonry systems.
  • Prepare and review detailed structural calculations, drawings, and technical specifications in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with internal project teams (geotechnical, civil) and external stakeholders (architects, contractors, developers, municipalities) to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and technical oversight to junior engineers and designers; support professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Support proposal development, scope definition, and cost estimating for new business pursuits.
  • Participate in site visits, construction reviews, and coordination meetings as required.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction in engineering deliverables.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (P.Eng designation required or in progress with eligibility for registration in BC).
  • 5+ years progressive experience in structural engineering consulting.
  • Strong technical proficiency in structural design and analysis tools (e.g., RAM, RISA, ETABS, SAFE, and other relevant software).
  • Demonstrated experience with structural drawings, detailing, and building codes (e.g., NBC, CSA standards).
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills, technical judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, regulatory authorities, and project partners.
  • A proactive, client‑focused mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on schedule.
