Core Responsibilities
  • Leadership and oversight of mechanical trades (HVAC, plumbing, piping) on construction sites.
  • Coordinate with General Contractor, MEP subcontractors, and engineering/design teams.
  • Manage scheduling, logistics, quality control, safety, and budget compliance.
  • Oversee field inspections, commissioning, punch lists, and project turnover.
  • Maintain daily reports, tracking site progress and resource allocation.
  • Mentor Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, interns, and trade staff.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
  • P.eng qualification.
  • Minimum 6+ years’ experience in MEP construction supervision or mechanical contracting.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection.
  • In-depth understanding of BC Building Code, safety regulations (WCB/WorkSafeBC), and construction best practices.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and subcontractors.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, and procurement processes.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to work at multiple construction sites as required.
  • Commitment to safety culture and continuous improvement.
