Core Responsibilities - Leadership and oversight of mechanical trades (HVAC, plumbing, piping) on construction sites.
- Coordinate with General Contractor, MEP subcontractors, and engineering/design teams.
- Manage scheduling, logistics, quality control, safety, and budget compliance.
- Oversee field inspections, commissioning, punch lists, and project turnover.
- Maintain daily reports, tracking site progress and resource allocation.
- Mentor Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, interns, and trade staff.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
- P.eng qualification.
- Minimum 6+ years’ experience in MEP construction supervision or mechanical contracting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection.
- In-depth understanding of BC Building Code, safety regulations (WCB/WorkSafeBC), and construction best practices.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and subcontractors.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and procurement processes.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to work at multiple construction sites as required.
