Project Manager Demolition GTA

Our client based out of the Kingston region is looking to expand their demolition operations. A strong professional who can bid and lead projects would be a strong asset. The projects are focused on interiors and small-scale structural projects.

Job Duties
  • Provide essential leadership, management and coaching of Remediation and Demolition personnel
  • Provide direction to the Project Coordinator and give them required information for execution of duties
  • Be accountable and manage the successful execution of a portfolio of projects by the scope, schedule and budget from start to finish
  • Direct the activities of all operational staff and monitor the performance of subcontractors
  • Attend various start-up, progression and close-out in-house and client meetings as required
  • Work with the General Superintendent and Health & Safety department to develop and maintain safety and quality control plans and programs
  • Ensure all projects are completed with worker Health and Safety as the utmost priority; complete site safety inspections as required
  • Ensure compliance with overall in-house and client Health and Safety Policy and Programs
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
  • In cooperation with the Vice President, Business Operations, plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules
  • Review all progress invoices and ensure they are issued on a timely basis and follow up on any outstanding accounts
  • Oversee subcontracts and the purchase of material(s)
  • Ensure that all cost tracking is being completed correctly by the Project Coordinators in Viewpoint
  • Prepare weekly operating report and present to Vice President, Business Operations weekly
Requirements
  • College, University or equivalent work experience in a related discipline (i.e. Construction/Project Management)
  • Minimum of 5 years' project management experience, with a minimum of 3 years as a Project Manager for Demolition/ Construction projects
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate complex problems and to plan and lead multidisciplinary teams to execute demolition solutions
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation, standards, and guidelines related to demolition
  • Knowledge of the engineering design, tender, and construction management processes and related contractual conditions for a variety of demolition technologies
  • Demonstrated willingness to be adaptable and flexible to changing and competing priorities
  • Familiarity with demolition methods and legislation
