Project Manager - Oil & Gas

Reporting to the Vice President in Toronto,Canada, the Project Manager will be responsible for the operational and financial performance of designated Oil & Gas & Construction Services for projects across Ontario & Alberta. 

This position will be based require travel across Ontario and Alberta

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of the project from initiation to completion.
  • Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand project outcomes.
  • Oversee quality, material & subcontractor management processes for assigned projects.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of designated projects. 
  • Reports issues to Operations Manager regarding financial performance, workload status, potential legal issues, and potential opportunities.
  • Resolves project-level legal disputes and escalates issues to Operations Manager.
  • Ability to build and develop a project management team alongside the superintendent with clearly defined responsibilities, covering all aspects of the operation.
  • Prepares employee development and succession plans for key positions in the department.
  • Ensures that all activity on the designated project is consistent with corporate and divisional strategic plans, business plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Understanding change order management & contract management
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required
Required Knowledge and Experience.
  • Bachelors in civil or mechanical engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Project Manager role.
  • Experience in the pipeline Industry.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects independently
  • Solid understanding of estimating, project forecasting, and change management principles and processes.
  • Experience in planning, scheduling, and team building.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to resolve project disputes with minimal assistance.
  • Availability to collaboratively work within both an office and site environment.
  • Sound computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Project required
  • Valid Canadian visa required - no sponsorship available
