About the company:
You will be joining a company with over 30 years’ experience within the EHV Power Industry. It is a dynamic and client focussed organisation with a flexible, and highly trained workforce supported by a strong and experienced management team.
 
About the role:
This company are looking for a self-motivated, confident, and enthusiastic project manager, with natural leadership skills. You will be required to work away from home on large projects anywhere in the UK, along with travelling daily to a series of smaller sites, and sometimes required to work away from home during the week.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing all aspects of the projects(s), from start to completion, ensuring they are undertaken on programme, budget and quality and safety standards.
  • Preparation of payment applications and evaluate works undertaken.
  • Planning is a key activity, and the use of MS project is essential.
  • Generating detailed method statements, risk assessments, and other site documentation.
  • Combine costs / valuation information to monitor profit margins.
  • Assess and recover additional / extra works.
  • Resolve any disputes.
 
Requirements:
  • The ability to liaise with clients and present a good company image, good people skills, diplomatic and customer focussed.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Ideally degree qualified (Civil Engineering)
  • At least 5 years site experience, with previous experience in this type of management role.
  • Conversant with current health, safety and environmental procedures / systems of work.
  • You should have good knowledge of temporary works procedures (particularly regarding excavation support, formwork, hardstands, etc.) including preparation of associated design briefs.
  • Experience in the utilities sector, alternative experience in drainage, road construction / maintenance, groundworks, reinforced concrete foundations, earthworks, civils, etc.
  • Substation Civils experience.
  • Working knowledge of new roads and street works.
  • Training Certs held: SMTS, TWC, NG BESC /Person, NRSWA Sup, HSG-47, Frist aid, appointed person.
