Senior Geotechnical Engineer

The Company:

Join a thriving Canadian division as they look to expand their operations in Ontario! We're on the lookout for an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a dynamic technical team in the GTA. Initially, you'll work remotely on projects spanning Ontario, with a focus on gradually building the companies presence and geotechnical services in other geographical locations within Ontario.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee, lead, and mentor junior staff members.
- Aid in recruitment and training efforts for new team members.
- Serve as project manager and design lead, crafting plans, sections, details, and calculations.
- Actively engage in business development through client interaction and outreach initiatives.
- Assist in feasibility studies and technical analyses for construction methods, foundation options, and excavation support systems.
- Manage technical aspects of geotechnical engineering tasks including dam and levee design/remediation, instrumentation, and investigations for major water infrastructure and bridge projects.
- Develop technical scopes of work, project budgets, and proposals, and produce comprehensive technical reports.
- Lead proposal teams and presentations.
- Collaborate within multi-disciplinary project teams across different regions.
- Maintain a strong presence in the industry through participation in professional organizations and industry events.
- Handle administrative tasks such as project documentation, office management, and travel logistics.
- This role involves fieldwork and occasional overnight travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering
- 15+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
- Proven experience leading geotechnical engineering teams.
- Track record of managing diverse projects for various client types.
- Familiarity with industry-standard practices and processes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in technical analysis software, MS Office, MS Project, and other relevant applications.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
