Job Title: Senior Project Coordinator
Civil Construction Company Specializing in Groundworks and Utilities
Location: Abbotsford
Reports To: Project Manager

Salary up to $90k + benefits

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Coordinator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil construction, particularly in groundworks and utilities. They will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Planning and Coordination:
    • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and work plans.
    • Coordinate project activities and resources to ensure projects progress on schedule.
    • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are understood and met.
  2. Budget and Cost Management:
    • Monitor project budgets and expenditures.
    • Prepare and present cost estimates and budget reports.
    • Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals.
  3. Quality Control and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with project specifications, standards, and regulations.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to project plans and quality standards.
    • Implement and maintain quality control procedures.
  4. Risk Management:
    • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Monitor project progress and address any issues that arise.
  5. Communication and Reporting:
    • Provide regular updates to project stakeholders, including status reports and progress updates.
    • Facilitate effective communication among project team members and stakeholders.
    • Prepare and present project documentation and reports.
  6. Health and Safety:
    • Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to on site.
    • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project coordination or management within the civil construction industry, specifically in groundworks and utilities.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with CAD software.
  • Familiarity with local construction regulations and standards.
