Senior Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

This is a senior role for an EI&C engineer who’s ready to sign off as Engineer of Record and lead the electrical and controls side of multidisciplinary projects.
My client is a national engineering consultancy with a strong water and wastewater portfolio. You’d be based in their GTA based office, owning designs from early concept through to commissioning, while bringing the junior team along with you.

Responsibilities
- Acting as EI&C design lead and Engineer of Record on multidisciplinary projects
- Designing power distribution systems at 27.6kV, 14.8kV, 5kV and 600V, including transformers, switchgear, panelboards and cabling
- Running power system studies: load flow, ground grid, short circuit, arc flash and coordination
- Designing MCCs and motor control schematics, plus security, fire alarm and building lighting systems
- Designing SCADA (GE iFix) and control systems (Emerson RX3i, Allen Bradley CompactLogix and ControlLogix), including panels, network closets and communication networks
- Producing contract drawings, specs in 49 or 16 division format, cost opinions, reports and technical memos
- Supporting construction through shop drawing reviews and RFI responses
- Carrying out site inspection, testing and commissioning
- QA/QC reviews, mentoring junior staff and contributing to proposals
- Working within a COR certified health and safety program
- Degree in electrical, instrumentation or controls engineering
- P.Eng. in Ontario
- 15 years or more designing electrical, instrumentation and control systems
- Hands on field experience inspecting, testing and commissioning electrical and controls installations
- Water and wastewater project experience is a bonus
- Comfortable presenting designs to clients in workshops, and a clear technical writer
- Proficient with MS Office, OneNote, SharePoint and Adobe
- Valid driver’s licence and able to travel within Ontario
- Engineer of Record responsibility on significant infrastructure projects
- A mentoring role with a growing junior team
- Varied work spanning design, construction and commissioning
