Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Buildings) to provide technical leadership and deliver high-quality mechanical designs for complex commercial, institutional, industrial, and municipal building projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
P.Eng. designation in good standing with PEO.
10+ years of mechanical consulting experience in building systems design.
Strong knowledge of OBC, ASHRAE, CSA, and NFPA standards.
Extensive experience in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems.
Proven experience preparing calculations, technical reports, and specifications.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; Revit experience considered an asset.
Experience with decarbonization and energy efficiency retrofits is an asset.
Strong communication, leadership, and business development capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design of mechanical building systems including HVAC, domestic water, sanitary and storm drainage, fire protection, and building automation.
Prepare and review engineering calculations, equipment selections, drawings, and specifications.
Conduct condition assessments and provide construction-phase services, including site inspections and contractor coordination.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
Support project management activities including scope development, scheduling, and budgeting.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to business development initiatives.
