Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Wakefield. This is an excellent opportunity to take a leading commercial role within a well-established main contractor delivering projects across a range of sectors.

The Role The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take full commercial responsibility for projects from pre-contract stage through to final account. The role will involve managing project costs, overseeing subcontract procurement, and providing strategic commercial support to ensure successful financial delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial management of projects
  • Prepare and review cost plans, valuations, and final accounts
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiations, and payments
  • Monitor budgets, produce forecasts, and report on financial performance
  • Administer contracts and manage variations and change control
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
  • Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
  • Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor within main contracting
  • Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
  • Excellent negotiation, reporting, and commercial management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
