About the Role As Site Manager, you will report directly to the Project Manager on larger projects and to a visiting Contracts Manager on smaller schemes. You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality project while maintaining best practice across all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. The role includes full ownership of the day-to-day management of site operations, driving production, and effectively coordinating site labour and plant resources.
Responsibilities - Develop an understanding of the design and procurement process.
- Lead the delivery of high-quality workmanship, achieving right-first-time results.
- Monitor and manage progress against the construction programme.
- Chair weekly internal site meetings and coordinate actions with the wider project team.
- Monitor site labour, plant, and material requirements against the programme and agreed allowances, liaising with the Project Manager / Contracts Manager as required.
- Complete, manage, and maintain all site HSEQ documentation, including daily briefings, task briefings (TBT), LOLER, PUWER, and site inspections
- Prepare and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring works are carried out safely and in accordance with them
- Manage all site resources, including direct labour and subcontractors
- Implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved
- Drive and manage day-to-day site production to meet programme and quality targets
- Manage and coordinate the engineering team and Site Supervisors
- Carry out site inductions in line with company procedures
- Issue and control permit to work
- Call off and manage materials in line with programme requirements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, including site diaries and photographs
- Assist with the preparation of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) documentation

Qualifications & Technical Skills - SMSTS
- CSCS
- NVQ Level 6
- 3 day first aid
- SEATS, NRSWA and Asbestos awareness
- Temporary Works Co-ordinator

Experience - Proven technical, management and organisational abilities

- Detailed knowledge of health, safety, quality and environmental issues relevant to the project environment
