Location: Kelowna We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Superintendent to join an exciting organization! As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the supervision of all construction activities that take place on the worksite, ensuring the highest of standards with respect to workmanship and efficiency.
This project is in beautiful Kelowna BC.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead all on site activities; ensure project construction is executed in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
  • Manage site flow of information: RFI’s/ ASI’s/ SSI’s/ ESI’s/ MSI’s/ etc.
  • Collaborate with project manager, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Chair weekly trade meetings, assist with monthly site meetings with the development team, PM’s and sub trades as necessary.
  • Liaison with all City Officials and create strong working relationships.
  • Create lookahead schedules, weekly production schedules and monitor sub trades to comply and maintain productivity daily and weekly.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents and able to identify conflicts and issues in advance.
  • Coordinate, supervise and schedule subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Code and complete timesheets and POs in time frames required.
  • Collaborate with PM to create, monitor and maintain the project construction schedule on a regular basis.
  • Review the accuracy of shop drawings, change orders, SI’s and RFI’s as required.
  • Investigate and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Responsible for field documentation such as daily logs, progress photos, oversee daily safety inspections and other required reports.
  • Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary; includes coordinating offsite utilities and review with the applicable authority.
  • Able to anticipate and overcome challenges throughout the course of the project with positive and creative solutions with a never give up attitude.
  • Oversee and manage construction projects full circle from excavation to building handover.
 
Qualifications and Experience
  • A four-year construction management degree or an equivalent combination of technical training and related experience
  • Minimum 10 years experience as a superintendent with at least 2 projects completed as the lead super from start to finish.
  • Red Seal Carpentry ticket
  • Gold seal certification a strong asset
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License, no restrictions.
  • Wood frame multi-family 4-6 story on concrete parkade experience required.
  • Ability to read plans, specifications, details, sections, elevations, schematics, shop drawings and all other documentation.
  • Strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead and evaluate subcontractor performance is essential.
  • Proficient with MS project, Excel, Bluebeam and Procore
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings and other documents
