About the Company: The company we represent has been an established name in industry now for over 25yrs, currently turnover £160m and are a privately owned specialist sub-contractor with expertise in Groundworks & RC Frames projects to the value of £25m. They operate mainly in Southeast of England, predominantly London based, and have become well known as being one of the most professional and technically strong sub-contractors in the UK, with good safety regulations in place, their own plant, and a strong senior management team that have all been there for over 10 years now.
About the Role: As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will be providing guidance, support, and advice to site teams, to ensure the monitoring and compliance and Health and Safety legalisations and to promote a positive safety culture. You will be responsible to drive the standards and Safemode.
- Undertake planned & unplanned inspections and audits on site.
- Produce formal reports on findings and communicate these to the project and senior management.
- Ensure items raised in the auditing process are closed out collaboratively with the site team and management.
- Promote positive safety culture and injury/illness awareness. Provide site with H&S advice and guidance.
- Complete accident / near miss reports following occurrences onsite.
- Ensure items raised as a result of the above are closed to prevent similar occurrences, including the development of education/awareness strategies and review of processes.
- Work collaboratively as a member of the health and safety department.
- General administration tasks related to the HSMS.
About the Requirements;
- You will hold a Health and Safety qualification and preferably have 2+ years’ experience within the construction industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive working relationships.
- Be computer savvy with the ability to work onsite.
- Have strong communication skills both written and verbal; you must be able to communicate with all levels of staff.
- Be forward-thinking and across industry changes, standards and initiatives to bring to the table to continually improve systems of work and the impact of safety on site.
- Be willing to ‘chip in’ where required and assist other members of the team.
- Confident with Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Competent in incident & accident investigation reporting
